Second Quarter Program and Volunteer Workday Schedule
April 2022 – June 2022
Friday, April 1st @ 9 am to 12 pm: Wolf Creek Trail Workday.
Meet at the North Trailhead. Volunteers will work to clean up trash along Wolf Creek Road and perform trail work in advance of the Wolf Creek Veterans Walk event on April 2nd. All tools and training are provided. Wear long sleeve pants and shirt and bring eye protection and gloves.
Wednesdays, April 6th through June 29th @ 5:30 pm: Wednesdays @ Wolf Creek Group MTB Ride. Join PBTC for a weekly intermediate, no-drop group mountain bike ride. We will meet at the North Trailhead every Wednesday at 5:30 pm through June.
Saturday, April 9th @ 9 am to 12 pm: Wolf Creek Trail Workday.
Volunteers will work to clean up trash along Wolf Creek Road and perform trail maintenance work in advance of the Wolf Creek Trail Race on April 16th. Meet at the North Trailhead. All tools and training are provided. Wear long sleeve pants and shirt and bring eye protection and gloves.
Saturday, April 16th @ 8 am: Wolf Creek Trail Race.
This event includes a 1.7-mile fun walk, 6K and half marathon race which benefits the Poplar Bluff Kiwanis Club’s Bacon Memorial Park. Come out and support the walkers and runners with us or participate in the event yourself!
Saturday, April 30th @ 9 am to 5 pm: Sam A. Baker State Park Group Hike.
Join PBTC members for a challenging 11-mile group hike on Sam. A Baker State Park’s Mudlick Trail. Meet at the State Park’s Equestrian Trailhead for a strenuous loop hike through the Mudlick Mountain Wild Area, in the far southeastern reach of the St. Francois Mountains. Come prepared for the elements with snacks, water, first aid kit, and other necessities. This is a free event.
Saturday, May 7th @ 9 am to 12 pm: Victory Horse Trail Workday.
PBTC members will be working to log out, brush and sign the Victory Horse Loop Trail. Meet at the Wrangler Trailhead on County Road 402 to join us. All tools and training are provided. Wear long sleeve pants and shirt and bring eye protection and gloves.
Saturday, May 14th @ 9 am though Sunday, May 15th @ 3 pm: Lake Wappapello State Park Camp Out and Workday.
PBTC will enjoy a weekend of hard work on the 15-mile Lake Wappapello Trail in Lake Wappapello State Park. On Saturday night, we will stay in one of the park’s cabins for a cookout, bonfire and comradery. Join us for a fun and productive weekend! All tools and training are provided. Wear long sleeve pants and shirt and bring eye protection and gloves.
Thursday, May 19th @ 5:30 pm: Wolf Creek Group Hike.
PBTC will lead a 3.6-mile hike on the north loop of the Wolf Creek Trail System, followed by free craft beers at the trailhead afterward! Learn about the work our nonprofit does and see some of the trail maintenance issues first-hand. Meet at the North Trailhead. All are welcome to join us for this free event.
Saturday, May 21st @ 7 am: Wolf Creek 6/12/24 Hour MTB Race.
Loki Events will be hosting the annual 6/12/24 hour mountain bike race at the Wolf Creek Trail System. Come cheer on the racers, including a few from Poplar Bluff, for this challenging endurance mountain biking event. The event begins at the North Trailhead.
Saturday, June 4th @ 9 am to 12 pm: Ozark Trail, Victory Section Workday.
Join PBTC members for a trail maintenance workday on our adopted 7-mile section of the Ozark Trail, Victory Section. We will meet at the Wrangler Trailhead at 9 am. All tools and training are provided. Wear long sleeve pants and shirt and bring eye protection and gloves.
Saturday, June 11th @ 9 am to 12 pm: Ozark Trail, Wappapello Section Workday.
Join PBTC members for a trail maintenance workday on our adopted 8.6-mile section of the Ozark Trail, Wappapello Section. We will meet at the Highway 172 Trailhead at 9 am. All tools and training are provided. Wear long sleeve pants and shirt and bring eye protection and gloves.
Sunday, June 12th @ 9 am to 12 pm: F Highway Loop Trail Group Hike.
Enjoy a 6.2-mile hike along a portion of the Ozark Trail close to Poplar Bluff. We will meet at the F Highway Trailhead for this day hike. Come prepared for the elements with snacks, water, first aid kit, and other necessities. This is a free event.
Tuesday, June 14th @ 7:30 pm: Wolf Creek Full Moon Hike. Enjoy a full moon night hike on the 3.6-mile north loop of the Wolf Creek Trail System. Bring a flashlight and headlamp in case the full moon is not bright enough to light the way. Meet at the North Trailhead. All are welcome to join us for this free event.
