On Sunday, September 26th, Poplar Bluff Trails Coalition (PBTC) volunteers cut the final logs off of the Lakeview Trail at Lake Wappapello State Park. The moment was symbolic, as this .7-mile scenic loop trail required a significant amount of work to get it into useable condition once again. Over the course of several weeks in September, PBTC volunteers Brock, Rob, Kenny, Chazz, Kennedy and Jon worked to clear brush from the trail corridor, log out down trees with a chainsaw, and install trail reassurance markers on trees. The trail connects to the Allison Cemetery Trail, allowing hikers to enjoy a nearly 3-mile loop that skirts the lakeshore of the largest lake in the region. Thank you to Missouri State Parks staff for providing the necessary tools to accomplish this work. On to the next trail!
